ExportSQLCE Performance

The ExportSQLCE tool uses a simple XML parser to read and write to the specified file. The parse is done lazily, which is why the tool is slow. For what ever that is worth.

I have 2 SQLCE databases. The second one is new and I have added it to the first one. How can I bring the data from the new one into the existing one without losing the data in the new one?

Thanks for a comprehensive answer.

One of my customers want a solution to copy from one SQLCE database to another SQLCE database. I wrote a console application that copies and synchronize some data from one SQLCE database to another SQLCE database using T-SQL.

In the first SQLCE database I have a table with an ID column. After copying to the second SQLCE database I have the same ID column but all values in ID are duplicated. I did not change the ID column.

The ID of the IDs is the same.

What’s New in the?

The goal was to create a generic import/export utility that could be executed from the command line.
In order to achieve this, the ExportSQLCE project utilizes C# features of.Net 2.0 and the.Net Framework to automate the process of writing and executing a set of SQL commands to a SQL Compact database file in a simple manner. The entire process is quite easy and intuitive.
This utility provides several command line options to suit your project needs. The exports a whole SQL Compact file. Each of the commands you provide in the command line options is applied sequentially to the file. The command options available are:
Version Notes:

TargetDirectory

The directory where the SQL Compact database file is to be stored. The schema and data from the SQL Compact database file are copied into the directory. The script will contain temporary files that are later overwritten. Therefore the destination directory should not contain any other files.

MigrationScript

Generates a SQL script containing a mapping of the SQL Compact database file to a SQL Server 2005 or later database. The generated script can be used for database migration (importing the SQL Compact file into a SQL Server 2005 or later instance).
The generated file contains a schema of the SQL Compact database file to be migrated.

MigrationScriptFile

This command generates a log file that can be used to troubleshoot issues with the database migration. It enables you to determine if the migration can be conducted.
The command generates a SQL script that contains a mapping of the SQL Compact database file to a SQL Server 2005 or later database.
The log file contains an in-depth migration log.

MigrationScriptFileDescription

Exports an SQL script containing the schema of the SQL Compact database file to a SQL Server 2005 or later database.
This command works in the same manner as the MigrationScript command.

MigrationScriptFileDescriptionScript

Generates a SQL script containing a mapping of the SQL Compact database file to a SQL Server 2005 or later database.
The generated script can be used for database migration (importing the SQL Compact file into a SQL Server 2005 or later instance).
The log file contains an in-depth migration log.

MigrationScriptFileDescriptionScriptAffectedEntries

This command exports a list of the columns in the SQL Compact database file that are contained in the migrated SQL Server database.
The column names and data types are determined based on the requested migration.
