This is a description about my MIDI converter application. This software is free to use. MIDI Files to FastTracker 2 is a MIDI converter for creating MIDI files from any midi program or keyboard.
This software is not made for creating MIDI files. It only converts midi files to a FastTracker 2 module, using the Midi2XM module. So if you’re looking for a MIDI editor that can create new MIDI files, this program is not for you.
My application is designed to help users that are looking to quickly and easily convert MIDI files to XM modules. They can then use MID2XM to create music for demos, games or whatever. This method is easy, and saves you the trouble of having to use a midi program or music tracker to get your music ready for your project.
This tool can convert up to 20 midi files at a time. With that being said, it is limited by the capabilities of the Midi2XM module, so midi files with more than 128 notes per channel will be truncated by

To install the software, you need to extract the *.tgz archive. In order to
get the software you can go to the website

“mid2xm-dir” with “tar xvfz mid2xm-1.9.tgz”.

Easy to use
The software can be easily used to quickly convert MIDI files into XM modules. Simply choose the midi file to convert, select the source to output on, and start the conversion.
It supports importing any of the available instruments. With a simple edit in the MIDI file the conversion becomes even easier.
Support for XM module versions
Since most midi to xm converters have difficulties to preserve the quality of the xm modules. MID2XM offers presets for all XM modules up to version 8.6.
That means you can use any instrument in the presets to create the best possible conversion.
The presets also offer a full MIDI editing suite to get the best quality from the imported midi file.
Ease of use
You can select the instrument to use for your conversion in a simple dialog. And you can easily select the MIDI file to import.
A MIDI file can be a notepad file, a standalone midi sequencer or an instrument. It can be imported into MID2XM and be the source for the conversion.

Just import the settings from the inbuilt presets (see screenshot) and you’re ready to convert any midi file.
